Set Up Online Translation

Enter your Baidu or LLM credentials and test the connection in Settings.

Baidu Translate

  • You need an App ID and a secret key, both from the Baidu Translate open platform.
  • Apply for the general text translation API and set up quota and IP allowlist as prompted.

LLM

  • Fill in three fields: Base URL, model name and API Key.
  • Defaults point to Zhipu’s open platform (Base URL and glm-4-flash); change them for any OpenAI-compatible service.

Test the connection and where credentials live

Settings has a Test Connection button; the engine is used for translation only after it passes. Credentials live in the macOS Keychain and are never uploaded anywhere.
